From February 1995 to February 1998 while volunteering as a docent (tour guide) at the National Air & Space museum, I designed the docent’s internal newsletter, The Paper Airplane, and later became its editor.
I also designed official programs for the museum’s volunteer appreciation night events, and I created docent directories, flyers/ posters/ brochures for docent events.
This is where my self-taught desktop publishing skills began in April 1993 when I designed and wrote an internal newsletter (WFO Times) on my own initiative for the office I was working in. By the next year, the office name had changed and the design evolved as well as my skills increased.
